Tian Tian's Birthday

Since about November last year, my cousin Tian Tian has been in Australia. My friend Mat called her the Dana replacement for my family because she arrived during the time I was away in Seattle. Hmph. Anyway, it was her birthday last month and I thought it might be nice to take her out to dinner. The actual day of her birthday was a Thursday and unfortuantely, most of her friends had assignments due the next day. I thought about postponing the event til the weekend but even if the other girls couldn't come, it's still nice to do something on the actual day.

We were originally going to go into the city and have dinner in China Town. Karl and I were going in from Melb Uni and Tian Tian from Latrobe after classes. But it was raining all day and Tian Tian forgot an umbrella. So Tian Tian just wanted to go home instead. I still wanted to go out for dinner so I looked for places close to where we live to go eat. I found... Ivanhoe Chinese Restaurant. Seriously, that's what it was called :S. But it ended up being quite decent. I think we all enjoyed the quiet meal and Tian Tian particularly enjoyed the cake I bought.

Tian Tian loves cake and being her birthday, I thought she deserved a nice cake. I went to Brunetti's in Lygon in the morning and picked out a yummy looking black forest cake. They even did a sign written in chocolate on chocolate with edible (I hope it was edible) glitter on it for free. It was funny, on the night we ate 3 pieces of cake (3/8th of the cake). By the time I got home on Friday afternoon, Tian Tian had eaten the rest of the cake by herself. That's 5/8th of a cake by herself in less than a day. Phoar.
